Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Insurance industry, located in Omaha, Nebraska. The role involves the position of an Insurance Accounting Manager, playing a pivotal role in the financial operations of the company. The role demands a keen eye for detail to supervise all accounting areas of the company and validate that the financial statements are accurate, reliable, and compliant with Statutory Accounting Principles.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the entire accounting area of the company to ensure financial statements are accurate and comply with NAIC guidelines and Statutory Accounting Principles
• Review financial statements for various insurance companies
• Ensure timely submission of financial statements to meet all deadlines
• Leverage strong attention to detail to verify the accuracy and reasonableness of financial statements
• Employ Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, BlackLine, Concur, and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning for efficient financial operations
• Handle accounting functions such as Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Conduct auditing and billing functions as per the company's standard
• Apply knowledge and experience of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Use strong Excel skills for data management and reporting
• Understand and apply insurance industry knowledge and statutory accounting in daily tasks
Requirements • Must have at least 5 years of experience in the Insurance industry
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is essential
• Experience with BlackLine software is necessary
• Must be well-versed in Concur software
• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is a must
• Must have a thorough understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience managing Accounts Payable (AP) is required
• Must have experience handling Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Prior experience in Auditing is necessary
• Must be familiar with Billing Functions within an insurance context
• Sound knowledge of the Insurance industry is essential
• Must have a solid understanding of Insurance policies and procedures
• Proficiency in Statutory Accounting is required
