Robert Half Programmer Analyst in Omaha, Nebraska

Description Working together, Robert Half and a prominent Financial Services company are searching for a Programmer Analyst with expertise in software and applications programming and industry requirements. The Programmer Analyst will help formulate and define systems scope and objectives. Using research and fact-finding, you will recommend developments and modifications for applications or databases. Key responsibilities

  • Provides guidance for internal clients on applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting problems with programming. Consultation can include troubleshooting and/or education

  • Helps create communication content for certain system changes being implemented in production

  • Build and assess programming changes for every phase of systems development prior to implementation. Record test cases and expected results. Ensure results meet requirements. May develop basic tests or a defined subset of a larger system test. May make suggestions regarding acceptance/rejection if not all requirements are met

  • Analyzes and records issues, collaborating with other programmers to fix code problems

  • Evaluates methods of processing. Makes suggestions for improvements

  • Assembles and maintains dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst

  • Evaluates user requests for systems changes or improvements. Registers functional requirements and reviews cost, feasibility and utility. Recommends how, when and whether to make the changes

  • Trains and assists end users and other partner groups for a particular application, system or process, on an ongoing basis Requirements - Solid understanding of .NET

  • Previous experience as a project leader for the business portion of developmental applications or major systems improvements

  • Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong project planning and management tasks, business systems support functions and project costing techniques

  • Good working understanding of programming languages

  • Comprehension of PC and mainframe hardware/software
