Robert Half Senior Accountant in Omaha, Nebraska

To support the company's objectives as Senior Accountant, you will prepare and consolidate financial statements, analyze and reconcile accounts, analyze cash flow, produce budgets and forecasting, prepare audits, and handle internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Located in Council Bluffs, Iowa, this Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Automotive field.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary

  • Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Engage in various department-wide initiatives

  • Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions

  • Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

  • Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

  • Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks) Requirements

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • 3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • Exceptional time management skills preferred

  • Operational Reporting experience highly desired

  • Foundational knowledge in journal entries

  • Bank reconciliations experience

  • Month end closings experience

  • Financial reporting experience desired

  • Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems

  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

  • Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
