Robert Half Finance & Accounting Contract Talent in Orange is seeking a Senior Accountant to perform a variety of accounting assignment including but not limited to examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting records to prepare financial statements, give advice, or audit and evaluate statements prepared by others. This position participates, as needed, in the planning and analysis function for the Business Unit or functional area of responsibility in coordination with FP& A.
Role and Responsibilities:
Perform day-to-day activities associated with the accounts receivables, payables and monthly financial statement close process
Review customer billing for accuracy and completeness
Review supplier payables and prepare weekly disbursements
Support and participate in the monthly financial statement close process, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely
Analyze and review financial statements and variances
Consult and liaise with operating unit finance personnel on accounting issues
Prepare, review and analyze account reconciliations
Interact with external auditors, Controller’s Group and Business Units as required to accomplish goals
Assist, as needed, in special projects and the implementation of changes in FASB/GAAP
Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely
Proactively notify accounting personnel of any accounting or reporting issues or concerns
Work with various parties, both within the Accounting Group as well as other areas of the company, to resolve issues and enhance and improve processes
3+ year experience in an accounting role, preferably in the manufacturing industry
ERP Software Experience required, Epicor highly preferred
Demonstrated technical knowledge and understanding of accounting theory, principles, practices, and regulations including FASB/GAAP compliance
Ability to understand current processes first, then develop new processes to enhance the quality and efficiency of the deliverables
Strong understanding of requirements for documentation in work papers, disclosures and memos
Demonstrated ability to document a broad range of technical issues
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
Exceptional organization and attention to details
Effective teambuilding and leaderships skills
Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
Demonstrated project management skills
Commitment to highest standards of quality and integrity
Exude a high degree of professionalism and treats others with respect
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet required deadlines
