Description
Lindsey McCarthy with Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist in Orchard Park, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various aspects of accounts payable, vendor communications, payment processing, and general ledger reconciliations. You will also be tasked with entering continuing education student payments and preparing annual 1099s. This role is vital in maintaining the financial health and operations of our organization. This role has the ability transition to a hybrid role after training period.
Responsibilities:
• Handle all aspects of the accounts payable process, including entering vendor invoices and managing the vendor master file.
• Manage vendor communications and inquiries to ensure smooth operations.
• Process and reconcile all payment files, including student refund checks.
• Proactively manage stale dated payments to avoid any financial discrepancies.
• Prepare vendor spend reports and manage all internal and external vendor invoice and payment inquiries.
• Manage and prepare annual 1099 files for tax purposes.
• Prepare general ledger reconciliations as needed to ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Perform other general accounting duties as assigned to support the financial operations of the organization.
• Utilize various software and tools such as Microsoft Excel and Oracle for efficient data management and report generation.
Requirements
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
• Experience in High Volume Accounts Payable (AP)
• Proficient in Billing operations
• Capable of performing Data Entry tasks efficiently
• Experience in Invoice Processing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with Oracle
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Prior experience in an accounting role would be an advantage
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred
