Robert Half Payroll Clerk in ORCHARD PARK, New York

Description Robert Half is looking for a Payroll Clerk to support the Payroll department at a growing company in a variety of duties. The opportunity is located in the Orchard Park, New York area. This is a great opportunity for a self-starter to work with an industry leader on a career path with growth in this challenging position. The ideal candidate would be able to effectively communicate with both the internal team and outside customers. The Payroll Clerk's daily functions may consist of data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is offered on a long-term contract / temporary to hire basis.

What you get to do every single day

  • Enter data into spreadsheets and the payroll system

  • Compile a system of administering and distributing reports

  • Manage communications with employees on timesheet approvals

  • Administer instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.

  • Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system

  • Carry out clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc

  • Build and run custom reports Requirements - Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills

  • Enthusiasm when it comes to learning new systems and ideas

  • Previous payroll experience

  • Practical knowledge of Payroll Tax

  • Experience with manual payroll

  • Health Care Professionals experience required

  • Well-founded grasp of payroll for over 500 employees

  • Wide ranging experience with Payroll Tax Reporting

  • Quality experience with Payroll Tax Deposits

  • Full Cycle Payroll experience

  • General familiarity with Payroll Law

  • Proven knowledge of multi-state payroll

  • Foundational knowledge in in-house payroll

  • Earlier work involving Payroll Taxes

  • Good understanding of Process Bi-weekly Payroll

  • Strong familiarity with garnishments payroll

  • Skills in Process Payroll

  • Previous experience working with Reconcile Payroll

  • Prior Payroll software experience preferred

  • Accurate, swift, data entry abilities
