Robert Half Assistant Controller in Orlando, Florida

Description

The Assistant Controller will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of Robert Half's growing client. This position requires a strong background in construction accounting, as well as a CPA designation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective financial management.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

  • Collaborate with the Controller to analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.

Construction Accounting:

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of construction accounting principles to manage project accounting, including job costing, revenue recognition, and WIP analysis.

  • Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate and timely project financial reporting.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Contribute to the development and monitoring of annual budgets.

  • Support the Controller in preparing financial forecasts and variance analyses.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Assist in maintaining and improving internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

CPA Liaison:

  • Serve as a key contact for external auditors during annual audits.

  • Prepare necessary documentation and schedules for audit purposes.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments, including operations and procurement, to gather and analyze financial data.

  • Provide guidance and support to accounting staff.

Requirements

-Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation required.

-Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction accounting.

-Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with financial reporting.

-Proficient in using construction accounting software.
