Description
We are in search of a Controller to join our team in the restaurant industry, located in Orlando, Florida. The Controller will play an instrumental role in managing and overseeing our restaurant chain's financial operations. The individual will be tasked with ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic insights to support the company's growth.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for multiple restaurant locations, commissary, and wholesale operations.
• Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses to support strategic planning and operational efficiency.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accounting standards. Oversee internal controls and audit processes.
• Use Restaurant365 accounting software to streamline processes and enhance reporting accuracy. Maintain expertise in enterprise-level accounting software to integrate and optimize financial operations.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance and development.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Requirements
• Must have a minimum of five years of experience in a Controller role or similar
• Proficiency with 3M and other accounting software systems is required
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is essential
• Knowledge and practical use of CRM and Crystal Reports is necessary
• Must have an in-depth understanding and experience with accounting functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is a must
• Auditing skills and experience are needed
• Must have a clear understanding of budget processes
• Experience in the restaurant industry is highly desirable
• Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
• Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
