Robert Half Staff Accountant in Oswego, New York

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant. The role involves managing all financial transactions, auditing financial procedures, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The successful candidate will undertake a range of responsibilities that will contribute to the effective and efficient operation of the company's financial activities.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all financial transactions, including fixed payments, variable expenses, bank deposits, and budgets.

• Conduct audits of financial documents and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Perform regular bank statement reconciliations.

• Calculate tax payments and returns to ensure compliance with tax regulations.

• Undertake procedures related to the organization's accounting cycles.

• Manage Treasury cash and Credit.

• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial accounting tasks.

• Support in the preparation and analysis of budgetary costs.

• Handle SAP Technical month-end operations.

• Lead Year-end File, External Audit, and Government Audits.

• Oversee fixed asset accounting management.

• Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of business processes and ensure compliance with accounting requirements.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations and handling General Ledger

• Expertise in making Journal Entries and performing Month End Close

• Familiarity with Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• Excellent problem solving and communication skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational and planning skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar field preferred

• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus
