Robert Half Claims Adjuster -Auto in Overland Park, Kansas

Description We are in search of an Office Manager to join our team in Overland Park, Kansas. This role entails handling and maintaining all Auto General Liability (AGL) claims and file reviews under the general supervision of a supervisor. The Office Manager will conduct investigations and settle claims promptly and equitably, adhering to established best practices guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Receive assignments and review claim and policy information to provide background for investigation

• Contact and interview insureds, claimants, witnesses, physicians, attorneys, police officers, etc., to secure necessary claim information

• Depending on the line of business, inspect and appraise damage for property losses or arrange for such appraisal

• Evaluate facts supplied by investigation to determine extent of liability of the insured, if any, and extent of the company's obligation to the insured under the policy contract

• Prepare reports on investigation, settlements, denials of claims, individual evaluation of involved parties, etc.

• Review progress and status of claims with Team Leader and discuss problems and suggested remedial actions

• Settle claims promptly and equitably

• Obtain releases, proofs of loss or compensation agreements, and issue company drafts in payments for claims

• Inform claimants, insureds/customers, or attorney of denial of claim when applicable.

Requirements • Proficiency in customer service and maintaining professional client relationships

• Strong communication skills to facilitate effective interactions within and outside the organization

• Ability to train and supervise staff to ensure efficient office operations

• Knowledge of office policies and procedures and the ability to implement them

• Competency in payment processing and handling financial transactions

• Familiarity with time management software such as 'About Time'

• Experience in claim administration and negotiation to resolve disputes

• Ability to monitor progress and implement necessary changes for better results

• Understanding of property management and related legal matters

• Knowledge of various work methods and best practices for office administration

• Experience in compensation administration and account management

• Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment

• Familiarity with performance appraisals and employee evaluation methods

• Understanding of basic principles of office management

• Ability to prepare reports and present data effectively

• Willingness to work onsite as required

• Experience in handling settlements, liability issues, and release processes

• Ability to handle denials and witness statements in dispute cases
