Robert Half Staff Accountant in Oxnard, California
Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in Oxnard, California. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of accounting duties, including maintaining accurate financial records, processing customer applications, and resolving customer inquiries. This role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting department.
Responsibilities:
• Perform general accounting and cost accounting tasks for the organization.
• Support the month-end close process by booking all required entries in compliance with GAAP.
• Ensure that all prepaids, fixed assets, and accruals are booked properly and reconciled during the close process.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and related reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis.
• Provide management with timely reviews of the organization’s financial status and progress.
• Code invoices, set up new accounts as necessary, verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable, and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis.
• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Assist with company strategic planning and special projects as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Requirements • Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and management
• Ability to process Journal Entries accurately and timely
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in using NetSuite for accounting and financial tasks
• Familiarity with QuickBooks for financial management and reporting
• Experience with SAP for business process management
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of accounting principles and best practices
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions
• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new accounting standards and regulations.
