Robert Half Accounting Manager in Palatine, Illinois

Description

We are in search of an Accounting Manager to join our team in the Manufacturing industry, located in Palatine, Illinois. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity in which you will oversee the daily accounting operations, manage financial statements, and guide the accounting team to meet our business goals.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily operations within the accounting department

• Develop and implement financial strategies in collaboration with senior leadership

• Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements

• Guide and mentor the accounting team to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to industry best practices

• Assist in the creation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies

• Work cross-functionally with departments such as finance, HR, and operations to support business goals

• Implement process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of accounting operations

• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, as well as annual inventory checks and monthly accruals.

Requirements • Proven experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing Industry

• Comprehensive understanding of Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency with General Ledger

• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA software

• Experience with Year End Closings

• Knowledge of Accruals and Monthly Accruals

• Familiarity with Check Runs procedures

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proven ability to prepare Financial Statements

• Experience conducting Annual Inventory

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Strong problem-solving abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines

• Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
