Description
We are in search of a Controller to join our client's team in Palm City, Florida. This role involves managing cash flow, coordinating with banks, supervising the finance and accounting staff, and overseeing tax compliance, audits, and asset management. The Controller will also be responsible for ensuring all corporate and accounting policies are adhered to and properly documented.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee cash flow management, serve as the chief contact point for banking relationships, and supervise compliance and covenant requirements of financing arrangements.
• Supervise the Accounting Manager during the month-end close process, maintain schedules, review journal entries, and assist with variance analysis of operating expenses.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations.
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls over the accounting function and serve as the primary liaison with bank and external auditors.
• Supervise the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams, hire, train, develop and mentor staff.
• Collaborate with external advisors on all tax-related matters.
• Participate in the planned ERP implementation as the Finance team lead in coordination with multi-functional subject matter experts.
• Provide strategic and tactical support to leadership across all functions in financial stewardship and business acumen.
• Ensure that corporate and accounting policies and procedures are documented and followed.
• Oversee reporting requirements, bank covenants, legal filings, tax compliance, and audit processes.
Requirements • Possession of a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position
• Proven expertise in Auditing and Financial Reporting
• Strong skills in Budgeting and Forecasting
• Proficiency with NetSuite or similar financial software
• Solid understanding and application of GAAP Accounting principles
• Experience with Inventory Accounting
• Ability to manage Month End Close procedures
• Experience in preparing and analyzing Cash Flow Forecasts
• Demonstrable skills in Cash Flow Analysis
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
