Description
Intellectual property strategy company has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant! A successful candidate will work closely with attorneys and clients to assist with invention disclosure development, patent applications, patent prosecution, and legal operations. The right candidate will have a love of organization and implement and manage processes and systems that streamline the overall business. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role that requires strong written communication skills and exemplary attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and have strong problem-solving skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicate with clients, inventors, and other parties to gather necessary information and documents
Manage the entire process of patent prosecution, including progress of IDFs, draft applications, and draft figures
Organize and maintain client files, including electronic documents
Conduct research to support patent prosecution and IP strategy
Perform administrative tasks to help free up the principals’ time
Requirements
Essential Skills:
Strong written communication skills, including technical writing and legal redlines
Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision
Basic familiarity with USPTO rules and patent prosecution processes
Expert with Microsoft Office including OneDrive online
Demonstrated interest in technology and fast-growing companies
