Jonathan Spielvogel of Robert Half currently has a permanent opportunity for a Senior Accountant who's looking to build their career in a thriving, dynamic setting in the Palo Alto, California area. As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. What you get to do every day
Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP
Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives
Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary
Requirements - Proficient in ERP systems
Able to manage time well
Comprehensive knowledge of QuickBooks
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Vow to meet business deadlines
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
