Colleen McAuliffe at Robert Half, 408.906.0669, is looking for a senior accountant to join our client's team in Palo Alto, California, on a hybrid remote basis (3 days in office, 2 days remote).

The senior accountant will be integral to our financial operations, managing month-end accounting processes, General Ledger accounting tasks, Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable transactions, and ensuring compliance with ASC 842 standards.

Responsibilities:

Our client is a fast-growing SaaS startup seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of crucial accounting functions and contribute to our financial operations as we scale. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented professional passionate about accounting in a tech-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process journal entries and perform detailed flux analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting.

  • Manage the full cycle of General Ledger accounting, including cash management, investment tracking, prepaids, deposits, fixed assets, accruals, and stock option accounting.

  • Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring smooth invoice processing, cash application, and the accurate recording of credit card transactions.

  • Reconciled and managed sales tax accounts through Anrok, maintaining compliance with state tax registrations and filing requirements.

  • Calculate and record account allocations, including deferred commissions, bonus accruals, and other vital metrics.

  • Support annual audits, tax return preparations, and other regulatory filings by preparing PBCs (Prepared by Client) and ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

  • Assist with system implementations, process improvements, and special financial projects that support growth initiatives.

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

  • Manage lease accounting by ASC 842 standards.

  • Please perform account reconciliations and help prepare financial statements, making sure they are accurate and timeliness in all reporting.

    Requirements • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of accounting.

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliations.

• Demonstrated experience with general ledger management and journal entries.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience in managing month-end close operations.

• Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software.

• Knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting standard.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Commitment to ethical practices and adherence to company policies and regulations.
