Description We are on the lookout for a Litigation Paralegal to join our team in Palos Heights, Illinois. This role revolves around providing comprehensive support in litigation processes, handling documentation, and preparing for trials. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in an engaging environment and play a crucial role in our legal team.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents such as motions and pleadings
• Handle photocopying and scanning documents to maintain comprehensive digital and physical legal records
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to manage and organize case-related spreadsheets and documentation
• Leverage communication skills to liaise with clients, attorneys, and court personnel
• Conduct research to support legal proceedings and draft legal documents
• Participate in the preparation and management of trials
• Utilize strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
• Maintain confidentiality and use discretion when handling sensitive information
• Support attorneys in case preparation and management tasks
• Utilize legal knowledge to assist in the resolution of legal issues. Requirements • Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Experience with legal documentation preparation and management
• Ability to work on motions, including drafting, reviewing, and filing
• Familiarity with photocopying and scanning documents for case management
• Knowledge of spreadsheet creation and management
• Previous experience in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
• Ability to work independently and in a team, displaying a high level of initiative and flexibility
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Must adhere to strict confidentiality and privacy rules and regulations
• Bachelor's degree in Law or Paralegal Studies, or equivalent work experience in a law firm or legal department
• Paralegal certification is preferred but not mandatory
• Familiarity with the legal terminology and principles related to litigation
• Must have a keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy in work
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically
• Must demonstrate ethical behavior and professionalism at all times.
