Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant in the northerns suburbs. The selected candidate's primary role will include tasks such as review and preparation of financial statements, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, cash management, financial controls, and financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Handle and oversee the review and preparation of journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations meticulously and timely

• Assume responsibility for cash management tasks and financial controls to maintain financial stability

• Assist in the financial closing process and financial reporting procedures to ensure timely and accurate reports

• Prepare and review financial statements, including Quarterly and Annual Statement filings

• Analyze, summarize, and present findings from account analysis

• Participate in the preparation and review of insurance regulatory filings

• Assist with various CMS Medicare required processes involving transaction reconciliation

• Maintain and manage the Holding Company and non-insurance company general ledgers

• Create and update internal controls related to the financial processes and continually evaluate and improve controls

• Provide support for independent audits, Medicare audits, and state insurance department exams

• Participate in projection and budget preparation

• Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Requirements • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

• Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is necessary.

• Must have strong skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries is crucial.

• Capable of performing Month End Close activities and Financial Statement Preparation.

• Knowledge of Month-end Close Activities is mandatory.

• Should have strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.

• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team.

• Adherence to ethical standards and compliance with financial regulations.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Must have a strong sense of integrity and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

• A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.
