Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Parma, Ohio

Description We are looking for an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to take charge of our accounting operations in PARMA, Ohio. This role is pivotal in our service industry as it involves managing the overall accounting function, overseeing payroll and grant funding, and handling monthly financial reporting. The individual will also play a significant role in decision making by developing, analyzing, and interpreting accounting and financial information.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting functions for multiple entities, which may include accounts receivable, loans, grants, and collections.

• Manage month-end and year-end closes for several states.

• Participate in managing yearly state and external audits.

• Establish, maintain, and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with industry best practices.

• Oversee the payroll function to ensure accurate and timely processing in coordination with human resources.

• Account for all fixed assets and perform financial analysis on capital acquisitions.

• Conduct financial analysis and prepare financial reports for executive management, committees, school board of directors, and council.

• Supervise, evaluate, and develop the accounting team.

• Work with the team to automate and streamline daily processes.

• Undertake other duties as assigned with occasional travel required.

• MS Excel Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Service industry.

• Proven expertise in Financial Reporting and Financial Analysis.

• Proficiency in managing Month End Close processes.

• Solid understanding of GAAP Accounting principles and regulations.

• Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain Internal Control systems.

• Experience with MS Great Plains Dynamics is highly desirable.

• Advanced skills in MS Excel, including the ability to create complex financial models.

• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Must have a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to make sound decisions.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive information.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certifications are a plus.

• Must be able to demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism.
