Description We are offering a role within the Energy and Natural Resources industry, located in Parsippany, New Jersey, United States. The role revolves around the function of an Entry Level Accountant and is an integral part of our commercial accounting operations group. This position plays a crucial role in inventory valuation calculation and analysis, which directly impacts the company's decision-making process.

Responsibilities:

• Perform day-to-day accounting functions to ensure efficient operations.

• Calculate and analyze LIFO Inventory valuation and its financial impact on the company.

• Conduct RINS and AB32 calculations and analysis, complying with highly complex regulations that significantly influence the company's financials.

• Analyze and record complex derivative calculations involving mark-to-market accounting.

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.

• Manage the preparation of all monthly close journal entries and reconciliations related to refined products for a particular refinery.

• Prepare, analyze, and review weekly forecasts, assisting upper management in setting expectations for monthly close results.

• Handle ad hoc and other strategic analyses/projects at the request of management, often creating analysis from scratch and recreating from historical results.

• Utilize Accounts Payable (AP) and SAP skills to perform various accounting tasks.

Please note that this role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required

• Basic understanding of accounting principles and procedures

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes

• Familiarity with SAP or similar accounting software

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.
