Robert Half HR Generalist in Parsippany, New Jersey
Description If you have a passion for Human Resources and you're looking for an exciting, new Generalist opportunity, Robert Half has a great opportunity for you as a Human Resources Generalist. In this role, you will perform various HR duties, including recruiting, conducting new hire orientation, updating the employee handbook, and managing employee relations.
What you get to do every single day
Responsible for operations tasks for the HR department
Develop employee engagement plans, including budget approvals and management oversite
Employee relations, involving engaging employees and coordinating sensitive conversations
Engage with upper management, employees, and third-party vendors
Collaborate with other HR team members to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
Develop onboarding plans and train newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
Create & /or support a recruitment plan according to operational and business projections
Manage digital and physical files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews
Draft templates for various HR documents, including the Employee Handbook
Evaluate employee performance, including appraising pay scales, assisting with annual reviews, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)
Create official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters
Differentiate local, state, and federal laws to current internal policies and procedures Requirements
Prior HR Generalist experience
Prior experience or knowledge managing Open Enrollment is a plus
Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
Experience with full cycle recruiting and 4 year degree required
Eagerness to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
Proficient with office computer applications and software, as well as social media platforms
B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, preferably with a Human Resources or Psychology emphasis
- Highly professional; able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
Excellent written and verbal business skills
Strong knowledge of local, state and federal laws
