Robert Half HR Generalist in Parsippany, New Jersey
Description If you love Human Resources and you're looking for an exciting, new Generalist opportunity, Robert Half has the opportunity for you as a Human Resources Generalist. This role involves various HR duties, including recruiting, owning new hire orientation, managing the employee handbook, and handling employee relations.
Major responsibilities
Engage with upper management, employees, and third-party vendors
Draft templates for various HR documents, including the Employee Handbook
Create & /or support a recruitment plan according to operational and business projections
Collaborate with other HR team members to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
Accountable for completing various tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department
Employee relations, including engaging employees and coordinating sensitive conversations
Compare local, state, and federal laws to current internal policies and procedures
Develop official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters
Maintain physical and digital files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews
Create employee engagement plans, including budget approvals and management oversite
Conduct employee performance reviews, including assisting with annual reviews, appraising pay scales, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)
Develop onboarding plans and train newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations Requirements
Eagerness to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
Prior HR experience in a Generalist capacity and Employee Relations experience
- The ideal hire for this role is highly professional; able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
Proficient with office computer applications and software, as well as social media platforms
Strong knowledge of local, state and federal laws
Excellent written and verbal business skills
B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, preferably with a Human Resources or Psychology emphasis
Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
Prior full cycle recruiting experience
Prior experience implementing and coordinating Open Enrollment is a plus
