Description Robert Half has an opening for a Senior Financial Analyst in the Budd Lake, New Jersey area with an immediate start date. You will provide strategic analyses and recommendations while being directly involved in the coordination of various planning cycles (quarterly forecasts, monthly outlooks, and annual planning). You will give explanations for business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments, as well as, provide variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses. Conduct the development of forecast processes to ensure resources are leveraged with maximum effectiveness, build long-range operating plans to support business initiatives, and drive world class strategic and financial planning methods, in this Senior Financial Analyst opportunity. The Senior Financial Analyst will be key in operationilizing and cultivating data-driven planning processes and improving upon monthly and quarterly reporting. Grasp and define internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending
Administer weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting
Merge with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation and prioritization
Assemble and watch forecasting reports
Allow effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support
Partner with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process
Monitor monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources
Review performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities
The Senior Financial Analyst collaborates closely with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans
Offer monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required RequirementsBachelor's degree required Shipping Line, Railroad, or Intermodal logistics experience required (minimum 5 years) Experience with dispatch, equipment management, planning, and forecasting Independent thinker must be self-motivated, energetic, and functional in a high visibility role Analytical and a creative thinker with ability to synthesize data into written proposals Excellent oral and written communicative skills Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint required with experience in data mining Meet eligibility requirements for security credentials such as ERailSafe and TWIC Proven ability to diplomatically resolve conflict both internally and externally Interpersonal skills and proven success in collaborating, team building and project management Established track record in previous positions leading to lower costs and increased profitability
