Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Purchasing Coordinator in Pasadena, California. The selected candidate will be primarily responsible for acquiring supplier bids, procuring goods and services, maintaining pricing databases, and developing vendor relationships. This role plays an integral part in our operations, ensuring project requirements are met through effective negotiation, procurement, and tracking. Responsibilities:

• Use Bidtracer to acquire supplier bids in support of projects.

• Negotiate and procure equipment, goods, and services in support of projects.

• Issue subcontract agreements and ensure they are in place before work begins on the project site.

• Compile equipment and subcontract submittals.

• Maintain an expediting log to track equipment lead times and ensure equipment is released in time for project requirements.

• Negotiate and settle Back charges applicable to ensure fair costs are charged to the supplier as well as proper reimbursement.

• Maintain knowledge of market conditions as they pertain to pricing, service, and known product issues.

• Update and maintain unit cost pricing database in collaboration with other buyers.

• Identify potential areas of cost reduction and analyze the impact of pricing changes for goods and services.

• Develop and maintain vendor relationships.

Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Purchasing Coordinator

• Demonstrable skills in Customer Service

• Ability to analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability

• Strong negotiation skills to secure profitable deals

• Familiarity with market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices

• Working knowledge of MS Office and purchasing software (e.g. SpendMap)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A strong analytical mindset

• Outstanding organizational skills

• Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Economics or a related field is preferable
