Robert Half Medical Collections Specialist in Pasadena, California


A Behavioral Health Organization is in need of a Medical Collections Specialist for their growing team. This role requires you to go onsite in Pasadena 1 day/week to print out claims, then you can work remote the remainder of the week. In this role you will be responsible for a high volume of transactions for each claim. The Medical Collections Specialist will be task with reaching out to insurance companies on unpaid, denied and rejected claims. The Medical Collections Specialist must be well versed with appeals and denials management. In addition, you be working will all insurance payers except Medicare. . Hours are either 7a - 3:30pm or 8am - 4:30pm

The Medical Collections Specialist is a remote Hybrid role requiring the employee to come in 1 day per week, no exceptions.


  • Minimum of 2 years of prior healthcare collections experience

-Medical Collections and Billing

  • Microsoft Office knowledge required

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Appeals and denials management

  • Previous experience with an electronic medical record system preferred

  • A real talent for the explanation of benefits (EOBs)
