Robert Half Staff Auditor in Pasadena, California

Description We are looking for an Internal Auditor to join our team in Los Angeles. This role involves ensuring the adequacy and effectiveness of controls in responding to risks within our organization's oversight, operations, and information systems. The successful candidate will contribute to the evaluation of management controls established to mitigate identified risks and will provide valuable insights and recommendations to all levels of management. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-established testing procedures for all internal audit work to ensure that audit objectives have been achieved

• Evaluate the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information

• Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of operations and programs

• Ensure the safeguarding of assets

• Ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, procedures, and contracts

• Assess the impact of financial, compliance, operational, strategic, customer and other significant risks to achieving business objectives

• Contribute to the evaluation of management controls established to mitigate identified risks

• Prepare and ensure all documentation supporting reviews and audits is sufficient, clear, and concise

• Ensure that all work is performed in adherence with IIA and Internal Audit Standards

• Present observations and recommendations to all levels of management

• Prepare draft and final reports for all reviews and audits. Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• A minimum of two years of experience in auditing or a similar role.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation is preferred.

• Proficiency in using auditing software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and auditing techniques.

• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Should be able to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations is advantageous.

• Experience in a corporate environment is preferred.

• Familiarity with risk management is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills are essential.

• Willingness to travel, as the job may require occasional site visits.

• A high level of professional integrity is expected.
