To succeed in this role, you will need to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. The Controller position is a permanent opportunity in the Pasadena, Texas region.

Responsibilities

  • Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

  • Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

  • Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

  • Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  • Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection

  • Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

  • Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or the equivalent

  • Strong understanding of operations.

  • At least 5 years of accounting experience in manufacturing environment

  • Excellent Communication skills both oral and written
