Description

We are inviting applications for the role of a Controller in the accounting industry, based in Pasco, Washington. This role involves overseeing all aspects of our accounting operations, providing financial information to company decision-makers, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will also play a critical role in the training, supervision, and development of our accounting professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Provide timely and accurate financial information to company decision-makers and ensure compliance with applicable agencies and federal and state laws.

• Support the Accounting department by providing direction, training, and oversight of accounting professionals.

• Serve as the liaison to external auditors and CPAs and be responsible for ensuring a timely close of financials and issuance of financial reports to stakeholders.

• Monitor, review, and compile data to prepare monthly and annual financial reports and statements.

• Evaluate accounting and internal control systems, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.

• Advise on financial analyses and decision-making regarding capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with management.

• Oversee the cash management function of all entities and oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance.

• Evaluate the effectiveness of ERP software and supporting database, as needed.

• Develop and monitor business performance metrics.

• Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting professionals.

SALARY RANGE: $120k - $140k DOE

    Requirements

• Proven experience in the Controller role or similar position

• Proficiency in accounting functions and financial reporting

• Solid knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficiency in auditing, budget processes, and account reconciliation

• Familiarity with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

• Experience in managing general ledger

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Proficient in using finance software and MS Office suite

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage various projects

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required

• Relevant certifications (e.g. CMA, CPA) will be an advantage.
