Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Legal Secretary in the Local Government industry. The job is based in Petersburg, Virginia, and involves using your skills to support various legal operations within the department.

Responsibilities:

• Utilizing your knowledge of LexisNexis and other legal management systems to handle legal documentation.

• Using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, and Microsoft Outlook to organize, manage, and present data.

• Handling billing functions accurately and professionally to ensure timely payments.

• Preparing legal briefings and other reports as required.

• Managing calendars for legal staff, scheduling meetings, and ensuring efficient time management.

• Transcribing dictations and preparing legal documents.

• Ensuring all documentation is accurate, organized, and maintained for easy retrieval when needed. Requirements • Experience working in the local government sector.

• Proficiency in LexisNexis and other legal research tools.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suites, including Excel and Outlook.

• Ability to manage and organize calendars and schedules.

• Experience in handling billing functions.

• Excellent skills in documentation and briefing.

• Proficiency in dictation for accurate record-keeping.

• Knowledge of using management systems for workflow optimization.

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
