Description

Robert Half is looking for an ambitious Controller to join a well-respected company. This Controller role is pivotal within our team, focusing on a range of accounting and financial tasks. You will be responsible for supervising month-end close process, balance sheet reconciliations, preparing financial statement packages, and leading the day-to-day financial operations. This role will also involve managing a team of accountants, leading the year-end audit process, and working closely with the Head of Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the month-end close process inclusive of reviewing both the balance sheet and income statement to ensure all entries have been recorded accurately for the month.

  • Supervise the balance sheet reconciliation process to ensure all accounts have been reconciled prior to closing the month.

  • Prepare the financial statement package which includes face statements, fluctuation analysis, indirect cost analysis, intercompany interest calculation, cash forecast, and ASC 842 lease accounting on a quarterly basis.

  • Lead the day-to-day financial operations to ensure that invoices are being processed accurately and paid timely as well as ensuring bi-weekly payroll cycles for each studio are being processed accurately and timely.

  • Work closely with the revenue and cost business controllers to ensure any issues are resolved relating to budgeting and forecasting.

    Requirements

The ideal Controller candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. CPA required.

Other requirements for the Controller position include and are not limited to:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in general accounting/financial reporting in a fast-paced environment along with 2+ years in management.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP with the ability to apply principles effectively.

  • Detailed oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel including Vlook-ups and pivot tables.

  • Thorough experience with ERP systems

  • Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Team player with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
