Robert Half Cost Accounting Manager in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Description We are seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to join our team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a Cost Accounting Manager, you will oversee the cost accounting team and manage all aspects of cost accounting functions. This includes everything from enhancing productivity and developing team KPIs to maintaining accurate expense accruals and providing valuable reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the cost accounting team and ensure smooth workflow
• Develop, understand, and utilize the costing system for cost accumulation
• Enhance team productivity by developing Key Performance Indicators
• Improve and document various processes
• Collaborate with the Account Management team to ensure accurate and timely job closures
• Identify opportunities to enhance margins on jobs
• Participate in the Month End closing process
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
• Provide valuable reporting for leadership
• Ensure appropriate and timely accrival of expenses to projects
• Monitor and approve transfers of expenses into and out of project accounts
• Verify the completeness of all transactions posting to a project account
• Coordinate with receivables staff regarding unpaid billings
• Compile information for external auditors as required
• Maintain detail-oriented relationships with other Corporate Departments
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of business processes and their impact on transactional systems
• Assist in the analysis of key balance sheet General Ledger accounts and in sorting and analyzing quarterly/annual sales budgets. Requirements • Position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field
• Proficiency in Accounting Functions is mandatory
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is required
• Auditing skills are essential
• Familiarity with Budget Processes is necessary
• Cost Accounting expertise is a must-have
• Knowledge of Cost - Basis, Cost - Job, Cost - Process, and Cost - Standard is needed
• Ability to perform Cost Analysis and manage Cost Variance effectively
• Proficiency in KPI Reporting is required
• Experience with Month End Close procedures is necessary
• Understanding of Internal Control mechanisms is essential
• Experience with Expense Accruals is required
• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is necessary
• Familiarity with NetSuite software is a must-have
