You will succeed in this Director of Accounting position with a burgeoning, innovative company if you can take charge of daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related duties. Your responsibilities in this role:
Oversee the development and maintenance of internal accounting policies and procedures, ensuring organization-wide adherence to GAAP or other accounting standards.
Supervise the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
Ensure the timely and successful processing and filing of payroll reports.
Direct and assess the work of the Associate Director, Accounting, and review tasks completed by the accounting team.
Administer the company's incentive compensation plans.
Prepare and analyze accounting reports for presentation to senior management.
Oversee the production and analysis of monthly and annual projections and other accounting metrics.
Lead the annual budget process and preparation, coordinating with various departments.
Facilitate the process of annual audits.
Play a key role in M& A due diligence and integration.
Requirements
The ideal Director of Accounting candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. MBA and/or CPA preferred.
Other requirements for the Director of Accounting position include and are not limited to:
10+ years of accounting experience
3+ payroll oversight experience.
Strong management experience
NetSuite experience preferred
Ability to take initiative and work independently to complete tasks accurately in a timely manner
Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
