Description
Responsibilities:
• Manage the creation, operation, and management of a diverse set of DevOps-related tools, processes, paradigms, and technologies for our IoT Platform.
• Develop horizontal tools, technologies, and best practices to support all IoT Platform engineering teams.
• Collaborate in defining methodologies and ways of working that enable our fast-paced engineering teams to build out the IoT Platform.
• Define common frameworks and software libraries in various programming languages to support the creation of efficient, scalable, and highly available microservice-based architectures.
• Troubleshoot issues and identify areas for continuous improvement with a particular emphasis on quality, performance, and security.
• Work closely with architects and technical product managers to translate overall system architecture and product requirements into well-designed, implemented, and tested software solutions.
• Work in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software in an incremental manner.
• Promote the adoption of best-in-class software engineering practices, frameworks, and tools.
• Provide guidance and feedback to other software developers.
Requirements
Experience Required:
B.Sc. in Computer Science or related Engineering (Master's degree highly desirable)
8+ years proven hands-on track-record in software engineering, focusing on cloud-based systems.
Proficient in a variety of programming languages, particularly Java, Python, Golang, or JavaScript (NodeJS). Strong Java Development skills, preferably with Ver. 1.8.
Experience in developing cloud-based services (SaaS) and platforms (PaaS).
Extensive experience with AWS; knowledge of distributed systems, design for scalability, performance, and availability.
Experience with microservices-based platform architectures.
Solid knowledge of distributed network architectures and network security.
Good knowledge of data persistence technologies including relational databases and no-SQL solutions.
Excellent interpersonal and technical communication.
Required Skills: Clojure, ClojureScript, Redis, Kafka, PostgreSQL, HashiCorp stack (Nomad, Consul, Vault, Terraform), AWS, ELK, Telegraf, Grafana.
