Robert Half Payroll/Staff Accountant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Description

For a payroll/staff accountant role in Northeast Philly, your responsibilities would cover various aspects of accounting and payroll functions. Here's what your role would entail:

  • Payroll Processing: Managing payroll activities, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, and compliance with payroll regulations.

  • General Accounting Support: Assisting with general accounting tasks, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting the month-end close process.

  • Sales Tax Preparation: Handling sales tax calculations, filings, and ensuring compliance with state and local tax regulations.

  • ACH Wire Transfers: Processing ACH wire transfers accurately and securely, ensuring adherence to financial protocols.

  • Paylocity Experience: Utilizing Paylocity or similar payroll software for payroll processing and employee data management.

  • Financial Reporting Support: Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and analysis to support decision-making processes.

  • Intermediate Excel Skills: Utilizing Excel for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation purposes.

  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records.

    Requirements - Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

  • Efficient in ERP systems

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Automated Payroll experience desired

  • Payroll systems for 100-500 employees experience

  • Practical knowledge of bank reconciliations

  • Well-founded grasp of Sales Tax

  • General familiarity with account reconciliation

  • Foundational knowledge in Process Bi-weekly Payroll

  • Proven knowledge of Reconcile Payroll

  • Knowledge of Full Cycle Payroll

  • Quality experience with Paylocity

  • Experience with Process Payroll

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
