Description
Robert Half is offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our client's team located in Philadelphia area. This Senior Accounts Payable Specialist role will primarily involve reviewing and processing incoming invoices, maintaining vendor files, and liaising with various stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
Responsibilities:
Inspect incoming invoices, either in electronic or paper format.
Assign these invoices to the appropriate staff members in line with approval and verification policies.
Assemble groups of invoices ready for data entry using a three-way match process, which includes the purchase order, invoice, and receiver.
Examine the invoices for precision, discount possibilities, lacking documents, or necessary approvals.
Safeguard and manage confidential vendor files and employee records.
Aid in collecting documentation needed by auditors. Fulfill the role of a mediator for vendors, PIs, and end users to handle complaints and reconcile overdue invoices.
Confirm Accounts Payable batch totals and arrange payments for distribution and approval.
Transfer the Positive Pay file to the bank and log transactions to General Ledger.
Reconcile monthly vendor statements and investigate payment or billing issues.
Take an active role in the execution and continuous enhancement of finance management systems, including but not limited to disbursement and spend management systems.
Import all electronic invoicing.
Requirements
The ideal Senior Accounts Payable Specialist candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education.
Other requirements for the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist position include and are not limited to:
3+ years of experience in AP
ERP Implementation experience
Knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and basic accounting principles.
Experience utilizing ERP systems (Workday, Oracle, SAP, etc.)
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Must possess
Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work well with others
