Robert Half Collections Specialist in Phoenix, Arizona


We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Collections Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis.

Position Overview:

As a Collections Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely recovery of outstanding debts while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service. You will be responsible for managing delinquent accounts, negotiating payment arrangements, and employing effective debt recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contact customers with delinquent accounts through various channels, including phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.

  • Negotiate and establish repayment plans and settlements with customers in accordance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.

  • Conduct thorough account research to identify reasons for delinquency and propose solutions to bring accounts current.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all collection activities, communications, and payment arrangements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal and compliance departments, to escalate cases when necessary.

  • Keep up-to-date with industry regulations and compliance standards related to debt collection.

  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.

  • Meet and exceed monthly collection targets and KPIs while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Handle sensitive customer information with the utmost confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations.


Minimum Experience:

  • 1-2 years of combined customer contact, sales, or collections experience in the financial services industry.

  • Proficient knowledge of recovery collection procedures, processes, and system tools.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Current Member Debt Solutions experience in a financial institution.
