Description

We are offering an opportunity for a Demand Planner (Remote). The Demand Planner is a critical member of the Supply Chain team responsible for managing finished goods demand and inventory levels for our three sales channels: Ecomm, retail and wholesale.

This full-time position works closely with various cross-functional groups including sales & marketing, growth, merchandising, production, import, finance, and with Amazon USA and Int’l, Shopify and retailers.

Overview

  • Manage the overall demand forecast and inventory planning for the three sales channels. Lead a monthly buy process to drive collaborative inventory management decisions.

  • Check daily inventory availability across each sales channel, e.g., Amazon, MCF, Shopify and retailers. Manage replenishment needs to ensure timely and consistent in stock across all channels.

  • Determine and execute allocations for retail locations.

  • Review and analyze sales trends and product performances to optimize demand forecasts.

  • Analyze inventory for markdowns and temporary promotions to optimize profitability and inventory turnover.

Responsibilities

Demand Forecasting: Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and other factors to predict future demand for products.

Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data from various sources, including sales figures, market research, and economic indicators, to create accurate demand forecasts.

Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to gather input and align forecasts with business plans and marketing campaigns.

Inventory Management: Ensure optimal inventory levels by forecasting demand accurately, thereby minimizing excess stock and avoiding stockouts.

Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure that the production and supply plans align with demand forecasts.

Monitoring and Adjusting Forecasts: Continuously monitor actual sales against forecasts and adjust predictions as needed based on new data or changes in market conditions.

Reporting and Communication: Create and present reports on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and related metrics to management and other stakeholders.

Demand Planning Systems: Utilize and maintain demand planning software and tools to improve forecasting accuracy and efficiency.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain that could impact product availability and developing contingency plans.

Performance Metrics: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning, such as forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and service levels, and strive for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Experience in retrieving sales & Inventory reports from Amazon Seller Center and Shopify. Strong communication skills, the ability to build productive cross functional partnerships, and an analytical mindset will be key to success in this role.

  • The planner will be part of a small but growing team, so must possess a can-do attitude and be a proactive and curious problem solver who is able to multi-task and juggle priorities.

  • High initiative level, able to work independently on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a changing environment.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, mathematical, and critical-thinking skills.

  • Robust computer skills to include MS Excel and relevant inventory management applications with QuickBooks knowledge.

  • Able to solve problems, make decisions and take calculated actions to meet expectations. Positive, energetic, highly organized and detail oriented with focused follow-through.

  • Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, and work independently of supervision. Four-year college degree in Supply Chain or related major.

  • Minimum of 4 years of inventory planning experience.
