Description
Are you an experienced Fixed Asset Accountant looking for a dynamic hybrid role? We're offering a contract opportunity in Piscataway, New Jersey! This unique position allows you to work on-site two days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remaining three days.
As a Fixed Asset Accountant, your primary responsibilities will involve safeguarding company assets by maintaining strict internal controls, collaborating with global subsidiaries, and conducting both internal and external audits to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Asset Protection: Enforce and monitor internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.
Global Collaboration: Work closely with foreign subsidiaries to maintain uniformity in the chart of accounts and account mapping across the organization.
Budget Oversight: Manage departmental budgets, perform variance analyses, and suggest corrective actions as needed.
Auditing: Conduct on-site internal audits annually (or as necessary) and coordinate with external auditors to ensure efficient and cost-effective audits.
General Ledger Management: Record and analyze account information, reconcile subsidiary accounts, and maintain trial balances.
Financial Reporting: Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other essential financial documentation by gathering and summarizing key financial data.
Continuous Learning & Improvement: Participate in professional development opportunities, maintain industry knowledge, and make actionable recommendations to management based on independent research.
Requirements
Proven experience in fixed asset accounting or a related field.
Strong knowledge of internal controls, auditing practices, and financial reporting.
Excellent collaborative skills for working with international teams.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to present actionable insights to leadership
Familiarity with SAP is highly preferred.
