Robert Half has a fantastic opportunity for a Part-Time Controller to be part of the Finance team for our client and have a broad business engagement & impact. This Controller role is in a very innovative, prestigious area with significant visibility at executive management level. In this Controller role, your responsibilities will include process management to ensure models are correct and fully accrued each month, as well as the verifying and holding operations team accountable that end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting, and related financial controls are operating effectively. Based in Pittsburgh, this Controller position will be a long-term contract / project-based engagement.
What you get to do every day:
Ensure timely cash flow forecasts in collaboration with the Treasury
Obtain understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners
Lead budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes and tools for the accountable programs
Engage with various business partners for a variety of program controllership and FP& A activities such as upholding accurate accrual models and appropriate accounting, as well as true-up activities. Also answer questions from business, area and subsidiary controllers
Acquire a thorough understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners
Support SOX controls through the collation of evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs
Analyze and oversee controls to ensure they are effectively designed and operating in partnership with compliance
Ongoing monitoring of actual spend against budget, as well as leading actions needed for any expected shortfalls

Requirements - Excellent analytical, organizational, and vendor management skills
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with experience building trusted advisor/consultant relationships and aptitude for influencing Executives and Business Decision Makers
Excellent efficiency in office and accounting computer systems
Ability to manage, lead change and build process improvements
Working knowledge of ERP system
Experience with Full Cycle Accounting
Knowledge of month end closings
Financial analysis experience
Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Monthly Financial Reports experience
General ledger experience
detail oriented accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance
Prior background in engaging virtually with teams around the globe and providing leadership across finance teams
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field
