Robert Half Managing Counsel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Description We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in the Non-Profit industry in PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania. This role involves providing legal advice and services, managing the Legal Department, and overseeing a variety of legal matters.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice to the Executive Director and the Board

• Oversee and manage the Legal Department, including counsels, paralegals, and support staff

• Ensure legal compliance in real estate transactions

• Review and ensure compliance with financing/grant guidelines

• Manage and budget for outside counsel

• Prepare Board agendas and meeting minutes

• Represent the organization in litigation as needed

• Research and support legal affairs, such as land use, environmental, and housing

• Review policies and forms for legal compliance

• Draft and implement rules and procedures

• Collaborate with HR on employment law and best practices

• Monitor and evaluate Legal Department staff

• Handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy Requirements • Possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school

• Must be a Licensed Attorney

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the legal field

• Experience in Non-profit industry is an advantage

• Expertise in Real Estate Law, Employment Law, Federal Law, State Legislation, Civil Litigation, and Administrative Law

• Proficient in using Legal software, Case Management Software, LexisNexis, and 3M

• Familiarity with HR Law, Civil Law, and Municipal Laws

• Experience with Real Estate - Leasing, Real Estate - Residential, and Real Estate - Commercial

• Ability to handle Claim Administration, Complaint Handling, and Documentation tasks

• Proficient in Briefing and providing Legal Advice

• Knowledge of State Federal, Multifamily Housing, Fair Housing Law, and Redevelopment

• Ability to ensure Regulatory Compliance

• Experience with Human Resources (HR) Administration and HR Leadership

• Proven Leadership Skills, Management skills, and People Management skills

• Familiarity with Federal Funding, Funding Agencies, Real Estate Funds, and Public Finance

• Knowledge of Federal Government, County government, and State government operations

• Experience working with Government Agencies & Programs and ensuring Government compliance

• Familiarity with Government Regulation, Government Programs, and Government Relations

• Experience with Non-governmental organization (NGO) and Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives Program (HAFA)

• Strong Communication skills

• Experience in Litigation Practice and Business & Commercial Law

• Ability to handle Commercial Leasing, Commercial Litigation, and Complex Commercial Litigation

• Experience with Federal Grant, Foundation Grants, and Government Grants

• Proficient in Grant Writing and handling Private Grants

• Knowledge of Employment Law - Employee, Employment Law - Employer, and Employment Litigation

• Proficient in Commercial Negotiations, Contract Negotiation, and Lead Negotiations

• Expertise in Transactional Law and handling Transactional Matters

• Ability to provide Legal Affairs, Draft Legal Documents, and understand Legal Codes

• Familiarity with Legal Compliance, Legal Issues, Legal Knowledge, and Legal Pleadings

• Experience with Legal Proceedings, Legal Writing, and Court Appearances

• Proficient in handling Court Cases, Court Filings, and Court Hearings

• Experience with Court Proceedings, Courts - Municipal, and Courts - State

• Familiarity with Law Practice and Law Regulation

• Knowledge of Relocations is an advantage.
