Description

We are seeking a highly competent Sr. Accountant to join our team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities within the accounting field, including the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role also involves participating in SOX compliance, interacting with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and preparing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations, including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll.

• Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting.

• Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process, including monthly financial close workbook preparation.

• Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP.

• Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules.

• Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation.

• Perform month-end close, journal entries, with minimal supervision.

• Handle recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation.

• Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation.

• Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner.

• Participate in various department-wide initiatives.

• Conduct ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested.

Requirements • Must have a solid understanding of account reconciliation processes.

• Proficiency in balance sheet reconciliation is essential.

• Experience with bank reconciliations is required.

• Knowledge of general ledger operations is mandatory.

• Must be able to prepare and analyze journal entries.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is needed for data processing tasks.

• Must be capable of handling month-end close procedures.

• Experience with NetSuite for financial planning and reporting is required.

• Familiarity with Oracle for managing financial tasks is necessary.

• SAP knowledge for business process management is a must.

• Must have a strong ethical framework to ensure integrity in accounting practices.

• Strong communication skills are required to collaborate with various departments.

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field is necessary.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is desirable.

• Must have strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and trends.

• Should possess excellent problem-solving skills for resolving accounting discrepancies.

• Must be detail-oriented to ensure accuracy in financial reports and statements.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role is required.
