Based in the Plainfield, Indiana area, this opening for a Controller is a permanent position. Candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, will be preferred for this position. The ideal candidate for this position can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. What you get to do every single day
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Reviews deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

Requirements - Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
CPA/MBA preferred
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Budget forecasting experience required
Deep understanding of Transportation Logistics
Month end closings experience desired
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Strong attention to detail
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
