Robert Half Payroll Administrator in Plainview, New York

Description

We are in search of a Payroll Administrator to join our team in Jericho, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and processing weekly payroll for a union contractor, handling time entry, and addressing payroll-related queries from managers and employees. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a professional team environment, display initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments, and use sound judgment to resolve problems and make recommendations.

Responsibilities:

• Review and process weekly payroll for union contractor, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Manage time entry which includes checking the accuracy of payrolls and inputting timesheets.

• Address and resolve payroll queries from managers and employees in a timely and professional manner.

• Leverage your skills in Microsoft Excel to maintain and analyze payroll data.

• Manage payroll for over 500 employees, ensuring compliance with union regulations.

• Apply your understanding of construction accounting to ensure accurate allocation of payroll expenses.

• Actively participate in a team environment, contributing to team goals and objectives.

• Display high levels of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments on time.

• Identify problems, determine the accuracy and relevance of information, and use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, making recommendations as needed.

Requirements • Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role for a minimum of one year

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Demonstrated experience in managing payroll for over 500 employees

• Experience in managing payroll for unionized employees

• Familiarity with construction accounting

• Strong numerical and analytical skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• Ability to handle confidential information

• Strong understanding of general financial procedures

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations

• Ability to meet tight deadlines.
