Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Plano, Texas

Description

We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Supervisor for our team in Plano, Texas. This role involves managing accounting functions within the insurance industry, with opportunities for internal growth. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to enhance their skills in external reporting and month-end reviews, along with the potential to take on additional responsibilities over time.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation and review of internal and external financial statements and reports

• Develop and implement processes and SOPs for efficient and accurate reporting

• Train and supervise a team of 3-4 individuals, monitoring their performance and providing guidance as needed

• Manage the end-to-end accounting cycle, including accounts payable and receivable, auditing, and billing functions

• Utilize accounting software systems and ERP solutions to facilitate and automate accounting processes

• Handle accruals and build out work papers for tracking and reporting purposes

• Engage in financial statement reporting and traditional month-end capacity as skills and experience progress

• Contribute to financial planning and analysis work as the role evolves

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry to ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial activities

• Engage in continuous learning and development to keep abreast of industry changes and advancements in accounting practices.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services

• Proficient in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Able to work with ERP Solutions

• Experience with general Accounting Functions

• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes

• Auditing skills

• Familiarity with Billing Functions

• Experience within the Insurance Industry

• Ability to manage and supervise a team

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Proven experience in a similar role

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Knowledge of applicable accounting laws and regulations

• Ability to work with minimal supervision and to make decisions independently

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
