Robert Half Assistant Controller in Plano, Texas

Description Robert Half is currently accepting applications for an achievement-oriented Assistant Controller to join a well-respected company in the Real Estate & Property industry. The Assistant Controller will collaborate with the Controller to supervise the accounting staff. Identify issues and resolve problems in this stimulating Assistant Controller position. Your responsibilities

  • Draw up numerous procedures, policies, and technical accounting analyses

  • Supplementary duties as assigned

  • Backfill for Controller where applicable

  • Create relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

  • Assist with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting

  • Scan and conceive Ad Hoc financial reports

  • Direct to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, development, and regular assessment

  • Refined preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits

  • Uphold implementation and warrant adherence to accounting policies and procedures

  • Create accountability and the meeting of deliverables

  • Supervise the accounting team during the closing process to certify deadlines are met

  • Confirm regular account reconciliation to completion

  • Specify and generate process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience

    • Complete understanding of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience required

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IIA standards

  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

    • Notable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
  • Certified Public Accounting license or exams in progress

  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
