The Controller will be a permanent employment opportunity and will be located in the Plano, Texas region. In this role, it will be critical for you to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. To succeed in this role, you will need to effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Key responsibilities

  • Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

  • Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties

  • Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month

  • Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

  • Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

  • Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

  • Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

  • Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation Requirements - Strong attention to detail

  • Adeptness in Revenue Cycle Processes

  • Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting

  • Journal entries experience

  • US GAAP experience preferred

  • KPI Reporting experience

  • CPA experience highly desired

  • General familiarity with forecasting

  • Month end closings experience

  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

  • Prior work done in public accounting is desired

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
