Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the insurance industry, located in Plano, Texas. The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for handling various accounting tasks, including external reporting, month-end review, and financial statement reporting. This role will also involve the use of Excel for various tasks, with a focus on streamlining manual processes.

Responsibilities:

• Handle external reporting tasks, ensuring all reports are accurate and timely

• Carry out month-end reviews, verifying all financial data for the month

• Oversee financial statement reporting, ensuring all statements are accurate and comply with regulations

• Utilize Excel for various tasks, including creating and managing formula-driven models

• Work on automating manual reporting processes, improving efficiency and accuracy

• Handle the accruals and build out work papers, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date

• Carry out account reconciliations, verifying all transactions are accurate

• Maintain the general ledger, updating with all financial transactions

• Prepare journal entries, ensuring they are accurate and timely

• Handle month-end close, ensuring all financial data for the month is accurate and complete.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations

• Proficiency in managing General Ledger

• Proficiency in creating Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Month End Close operations

• Possession of a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field

• Proven experience as a senior accountant

• CPA or CMA certification will be considered a plus

• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles

• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers

• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software

• Proficiency in English and in MS Office
