Description
Pleasanton-based law firm specializing in Business and Real Estate Litigation is seeking a motivated and organized Legal Assistant to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. The position starts at approximately 20 hours per week, with a flexible on-site schedule, with the potential to increase to a full 40 hours a week. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to develop their legal career in a supportive environment, particularly those pursuing their paralegal certification or with aspirations of advancing in the legal field.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys with case management, including organizing and maintaining legal documents and case files.
Prepare and format legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
Coordinate scheduling for court filings, depositions, and meetings.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and other communications.
Conduct legal research and assist with trial preparation as needed.
Provide general administrative support to the legal team.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Interest in or current pursuit of a paralegal certificate is preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Previous experience in a legal setting is a plus but not required, as training will be provided.
