Robert Half Senior Accountant in Ponchatoula, Louisiana
Robert Half is partnering with an international industrial services company with a Ponchatoula, Louisiana presence in search of a dynamic and flexible senior accountant. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This position requires an experienced professional with at least 5 years of progressive full cycle accounting experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software/ERP systems, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Financial Management: Lead the financial accounting processes, including but not limited to, financial statement preparation, month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations, and analysis of financial data.
General Ledger: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute timely and accurate financial reports to management, providing insights into financial performance.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Technology Integration: Leverage your strong technology skills to streamline and improve accounting processes, including the implementation of new accounting software or systems.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
Customer Service: Interact with internal and external stakeholders to address financial inquiries, provide support, and maintain a high level of customer service.
Audit Support: Assist in coordinating and facilitating internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as needed.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancements within the finance department.
Adaptability: Be flexible in responding to changing business needs and take initiative to tackle new challenges independently.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field highly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible full cycle accounting experience.
Experience in a smaller office environment wearing multiple hats.
Strong proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
International business experience or exposure is advantageous.
