Description
We are in the search for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our clients team in the Non-Profit industry, located in PORT HURON, Michigan. This role will involve a variety of duties including month-end closing, preparing financial statements, handling journal entries, and managing accounts payable and receivable. Knowledge in QuickBooks is a prerequisite for the role.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct month-end closing procedures in a timely and accurate manner
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met
• Record and manage journal entries, maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
• Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded
• Manage accounts payable, ensuring all invoices are processed and payments are made in a timely manner
• Oversee accounts receivable, ensuring all payments are collected and recorded accurately
• Utilize QuickBooks for all accounting tasks, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the software's features and capabilities.clients
Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar
• Proficiency in performing Month End Close
• Experience in Financial Statement Preparation is required
• Knowledge and ability to create Journal Entries
• Adept with General Ledger operations
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficiency in QuickBooks is mandatory
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of non-profit accounting standards and regulations is a plus.
